A new generation of Australian graphic designers is pushing the boundaries of what is possible for the digital age.
But for the majority, digital design is just a means to an end.

The survey of 3,000 people by digital agency The Big House and digital media and digital agency Big Media Research found that about two-thirds of graphic design students were taking a design course at some point in their careers.
The data also showed that graphic design graduates were taking jobs in digital media, advertising and online retailing, and the digital industry was worth about a quarter of Australia’s economy.
The industry was also the fastest growing sector in Australia for the third year in a row, growing by 4.6 per cent last year, with the number of graphic designers in Australia growing by nearly 4,000 per cent, the survey found.
The Big House’s data showed that almost half of graphic designer graduates in Australia were in graphic design, accounting for around one in three.
It also showed graphic design is a lucrative industry in Australia and a growing one with more than 200 employers.
While graphic design was a hot-button topic at the 2016 Global Digital Media Awards, its impact on digital industries has not been as well understood, the research said.
The results of the survey come after a survey of more than 1,000 graphic design and digital industry professionals was released earlier this year.
It found graphic design education courses have become a major sector of the industry and a lucrative one.
“The big question in our minds was: is graphic design really as great as the graphic designers say?”
Big House digital media manager Ben Gorman said.
“And it turns out graphic design courses are actually quite good for the industry as a whole.”
Mr Gorman is one of the experts who have put forward this theory.
“Digital media is the future.
We’re just in the early stages of this transition,” he said.’
We’ve been at this for 20 years’The data from the Big House survey found that graphic designers were doing a lot of their work online and in social media, creating a more immersive and personal experience.
But the survey also showed more people were taking courses online than ever before.
The majority of graphic designs graduates in the survey were taking online courses, while the percentage of students who were taking part in traditional design courses was lower, with only one in five graduates taking a traditional design course.
Digital design programs also had a high profile in 2016, when the Big Media survey revealed a new generation had entered the industry.
The graphic design industry is growing at a rapid pace and the Big Hollywood awards showed graphic designers making a major contribution to the event.
But Mr Gorman believes that the digital revolution is still not fully understood.
“We’ve had a lot more opportunities in the past five to 10 years, but not in a way that’s reflected in the graphic design sector, he said .”
So it’s going to be interesting to see where it goes.
